This animation reviews a peer-reviewed randomized clinical trial evaluating staple-line hemostasis with the AEON™ Endoscopic Surgical Stapler in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
Conducted across 3 hospitals in 60 patients and published in the Journal of the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons (JSLS; Redmann et al., 2020; 24(4)), the study compared AEON™ with the Echelon Flex Powered Stapler using blinded third-party staple-line evaluation. AEON™ was associated with drier staple lines, a lower overall bleeding score, and less need for additional bleeding control.
